Breaking News - Aug 11

From the Newsletter Lady

Does anyone else out there feel like their “To Do” list is longer than the hours in a day?  For our family, that list is especially long this Summer, as we prepare for several upcoming family weddings that will be happening in the Fall.  And when you have two little ladies and a chubby-cheeked cherub that are just ripe for Flower Girl and Ring Bearer picking, that just increases the excitement and makes the hard work and busyness that much more rewarding.  From the shopping and the dress fittings, to the Bridal Showers and parties, I have seen the summer days whiz right by!

But luckily for us, the Pacific Northwest summers tend to start late and linger into the first month and a half of Fall.  The end of August does not signal the end of the car show season, and in fact, some of the best local area shows take place during the month of September.  Mustangs Northwest’s very own Larry and Tannette Russell have a great All Ford Show that they host each year at the XXX Rootbeer Drive-In in Issaquah.  That show will take place this year on Sunday September 11th, so make sure you mark your calendars and get out there to support their great show!

Many thanks to all of the Mustangs NW members who have been my eyes and ears this summer at all of the local area events and car shows.  With our busy schedules, I have not been able to get out to as many events as I would like, so I have been dependent on all of you for the content you have been sending my way for the newsletter.  Without your contributions, we wouldn’t have a newsletter, so my hat is off to you, who have taken the time out of your schedule to supply me with the great stories and photos you see in the newsletter each month.

“A Barn Find in the City?”

By Pat & Connie Trine

BARN FIND 1

Can you really find a Mustang Barn find in the city? Yes you can! As we get closer to our youngest child getting married, we have found out so much about the future In-laws!  With our love of the Mustang hobby, no doubt you share it with everyone you meet.  This was the case with our son Tyler's fiance Kelcie.  As we spoke of our Mustangs, she stated, “My mom has a Mustang sitting in our garage that has been there since about 1980”.  It is a 1970 Mustang with a 302 engine.  It is all original, except the color.  They are the second owners, and it had been painted white because the original owner did not like “Slime Lime”.  It was parked over 25 years ago due to the fact that it needed brakes and they started having a family, and it really wasn't a family car.  It ran great when they parked it, but hasn't been started in over 25 years!  It has 60,000 original miles and it is in very good condition for being in the garage for all these years. This is the perfect car for someone to restore and know the whole history. It is up for sale.  So if you truly want a “Barn Find” then here it is!  The asking price is $3,000 OBO. So if you want a part of history and to keep the Mustang hobby alive, contact Pat Trine @ 425 821-0549, and he can put you in contact with the rare City Barn Find!
