Breaking News - Dec 11
As I sit here at my desk and contemplate what to write for my last issue as editor of the Pony Express, I can’t help but think about my family and the impact that Mustangs NW has had on us. In the last four years, we have participated in Mustang events, gone on cruises to far off places, volunteered together, and have just shared LIFE together. You are now part of my family, and we share a common bond that no one can break.
As many of you know, my family just experienced some hard times this last month, as we lost my Aunt and Grandmother within eight days of each other. It has been a tough road for us, but the journey has been made so much better because of the support and encouragement we have received from friends like you - Friends who were there to offer kind words, a shoulder to cry on, and who were willing to lend a hand and walk alongside us. Our journey isn’t over yet, but we are comforted knowing that we have some pretty great friends riding shotgun, and we aren’t in this alone.
I also reflect on the last four years and the great ride that I have had as your newsletter editor. My time as the Mustangs NW newsletter editor has been a roller coaster experience, and it has definitely had its ups and downs, but I want you all to know that I have thoroughly enjoyed this challenging and eye-opening experience, and I cherish the new friends that this position has blessed me with over the years.
So as I pass on the torch to the new Mustangs NW Newsletter editor, let me just say “Thank You”.
Thank you for the gift of the last four years!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On Saturday, November 12, 18 volunteers met at Food Lifeline at the Shoreline facility and moved out 2,628 pounds of Bran Muffin Mix in 3 hours. This means we helped provide 7,884 batches of muffins for those in need. What a great accomplishment for Team Mustang and Mountlake Terrace Robotics. Mountlake Terrace Robotics brought 6 volunteers to the Saturday event. Thank you to the kids and the one advisor who has participated all year with us. What happened to Lynnwood –Ask Kev??????
I also want to say thank you to Erin Kimm who couldn’t be in attendance at the event but she donated $$$$ which help to provide 150 meals during this time of need. WAY TO GO ERIN!!!!

I talked with Food Lifeline and they stated they are running short on the basics which are the soups, dry goods, canned veggies and fruits, rice, beans and non perishables. Baby food is in high demand at this time of the year so let’s see if we can contribute to the cause.
On another note: Each month if you BRING FOOD which is donated to Food Lifeline to help support our community, Janell has provided the information in the newsletter, so take a look and see what we have donated to date.
What goal do you want to hit as a club? Give me some feedback at the next general meeting.

Car People Helping Car People
As a member of our family of drivers at PCA/PNWR events I wanted to share a bit of news regarding one of our instructors, Scott Bradley and his family. Many of you have probably had the opportunity to have Scott in the passenger seat, guiding you safely around Pacific Raceway. The rest of you are just waiting for the chance to benefit from his years of experience. He’s really a terrific instructor and a really great guy. Right now, he needs help from all of us.
I just got off of the phone with Scott Bradley's wife Carol. They are currently in Houston with their daughter Kathryn who is 20 years old and has been fighting brain cancer for some time. The doctors were cautiously optimistic after her last surgery but the cancer has returned and is back in four different locations. The doctors have now given her 3-6 months to live. They have taken her to Houston to do a procedure that involves gene therapy to battle this new cancer threat. It is expensive and will not be totally covered by insurance.
I mention this only to inform our track family – with permission from the Bradley family – that they could really use our help right now. We all love Scott very much, he has touched each and every one of us with his positive attitude and his many contributions at the track. Can you help Scott and his daughter with a small contribution in return?
There are currently three ways to help Scott's family right now.
1) Pray to your God to lighten the burden and trial from the Bradley family
2) If you have any available funds, please send some money to the Carol Bradley Family Fund at Umpqua Bank.
Alternately, you can also send a check to:
Bradley Family
6711 71st St. Ct. W.
Lakewood, WA 98499
3) Email Scott and let him know that you are thinking of him. He needs moral support more now than ever before. poahi@msn.com
Thank you for taking the time to hear about one of our own and their very personal trials. Any way you can help will be deeply appreciated.
