Breaking News - July 10

From the Newsletter Lady

This month is a bittersweet one for many of us in Mustangs Northwest.  July brings the promise of the long-awaited 2010 MCA Grand National & Mustang Roundup.  It marks months of tireless work and countless efforts made by many volunteers, who have put in their time and passion to ensure that this show will be a success.  This achievement should be honored and celebrated, and those who have put their heart & soul into planning for the event, should be proud!

However, the amazing milestone of the 2010 MCA Grand National, also comes with a note of sadness, as we realize that one of our own will not be there with us to experience it.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bellinger family, as we grieve the loss of Gale; a woman who epitomized the first line of her obituary—”She lived a life devoted to others.”  Always with a smile on her face and an encouraging word—I only hope that I will be able to do the same and earn the privilege of half of her legacy.

Mustangs Northwest is a great big extended family.  Although dysfunctional at times (what family isn’t?), I am proud to say that I am a member of an organization that comes together, supports each other, and loves one another as if we were related by more than just the fine pieces of machinery that we drive.  Whether in good times or in bad, Mustangs Northwest members stick together and work hard to put on high caliber shows and events.  I am excited to invite Mustang Enthusiasts from all parts of the Globe to our “Family Reunion” this month, and to share our Pacific Northwest passion and hospitality.

Welcome!

Danny Burky’s Adventure Continues

From Danny:  “It is official.  Parts of our Battalion will be redeploying back to Germany early.  Only sad part is about 3 to 4 companies worth will return, leaving 2 flight companies here until December.

My entire Company will be back by mid August, and I am expected to return by the end of July or 1st part of August.  I will not have my personal internet in my tent after the 15th but will still be able to email you on my work computer.  I still plan on sending what pics I can up until that point where I cannot.

Even though I will return back to Germany, I do want to remind everyone to keep up their support for the other NCOs and Soldiers in my Battalion and all other military services that will continue to serve in Afghanistan.."

Please check out the latest on Danny's Blog on the Mustangs NW Website

It has some of his latest photos from his latest adventures...

Please take time to thank the men and women in the Armed Forces for serving and protecting us.
