Liz Greene's 1989 GT Foxbody, "Xhex"

I got my driver's license at the peak of Foxbody madness, and had wanted one ever since.  I couldn't convince my husband Ernie though, as he thought they were the ugliest body style. But come summer of 2010, I had been without my fun car (Sparky) for 7 months, and was having serious withdrawals! Also, as one of our daily drivers was a diesel truck, and the cost of fuel was skyrocketing, I started to covertly look around for a nice Fox GT as a fun, daily driver replacement.

In May, I did find one in Lacey, but he wanted too much.  It fit to the T though: '89 GT, black, 5-speed, no wild mods.  The car had some 140k miles, but looked well-maintained and completely stock.  I emailed the owner back and forth over a couple of weeks, and he did come down in price AND did the dreaded heater core replacement.  A road trip to Lacey was in order!

CAR OF MONTH 1
Obviously I bought that GT, and promptly named her "Xhex", after a favorite book character that dresses all in black.  The only mods we've done (so far) is to tint the windows, replace the stereo, change out the shocks to KYBs, and add a CAI.  She's a blast to drive, and while Sparky was still in resto, Xhex took his place on the showgrounds.  My goal with her is to simply maintain her, and add some safety and performance mods along the way.

Oh and since he's been able to drive one, Ernie now likes Foxes!
