Car of the Month - May 11
The Resurrection of Lee Walmsley's 1966 Convertible
As Lee stated to me in a recent email, “I like to save them and this one was in desperate need of help.”
The May “Car of the Month” follows the resurrection of a1966 Convertible by Lee Walmsley:
Thanks to the great fitting Dynacorn panels, this is a nice clean car now. About 175 hours from rolling junk, to 75% ready to paint, this car should be ready to get painted this summer. I traded this one for a rear-ended 1969 Convertible about 15 years ago. Someone welded iron all around the frame and floors, ruining this car. I wanted a challenge, and found a good one. The new panels fit about 90% as good as NOS. That is a far cry from where re-pop body parts started out
Replaced:
- one piece floor
- upper and lower Cowl
- Firewall
- inner and even (outer RH) Rocker panels
- Torque boxes(front) and RH rear
- all rear panels and frame rails
- Front frame rails
- The list goes on and on
