Clayton Naekel's SVO Project Car

I got my SVO when I was 10 years old down in Olympia Washington.  I went with my Grandpa (Scott Robinson), Mitch Harris and Dave Agnew in the trucks to pick up the car.  SVO friends Troy and Mitch found the car on EBAY for $900.00 and called my Grandpa about the car.  I asked my grandpa and grandma to go down and look at the car, which they did and decided it was a good buy.   It took two trucks and the trailer to bring the car home, as the previous owner had removed the interior, the engine and most of the suspension off the car as he was trying to make a racecar out of it.

When I went with them to pick up the car, boy was I in for a surprise, as this car has two engines and lots parts all in boxes.  On the way back from Olympia, the car was up and down because it had no shocks in it.  We stopped at Red Robin on the way home and had lunch and I fell asleep in the truck with Grandpa until we got home, all of us had to un-strap the car and steer it into the shop, which was hard because it had no steering column or A arms & rack were cut so there was no sway bar, but we did get it under cover.

We will start working on the car this winter I hope, and I will help do as much of the work on it as I can.  My friend Chris Chalk has a few SVOs and he has been teaching me things about the car, so this should be an interesting learning experience.  I will either love the car or hate it by the time I am done.
