From the Prez - Jun 11
Less than six weeks to Roundup! So little time, so much to do! Everyone is working at getting the final touches done for the biggest event of the year. The Roundup Committee is busy lining up the necessary volunteers for all the positions that are needed to put on a show of this size (it truly is the “World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Mustangs”). If you have not signed up, please do so (sign up early and often)!
At the May General Meeting, the “artwork” for Roundup was unveiled! I really believe it is some of the best yet. Bill Smallwood III presented the Roundup T-Shirts and for the first time, we have more than white T-Shirts. The black T-Shirt looks awesome! We also decided to do a “Member” T-Shirt which has the Club Shield on the pocket area, and the word, “Member” just below. It really does look great! I want to personally thank Bill for all the work he put into getting us this great artwork.
Our Spring Into Summer show may have experienced a “little” rain but for the people that brought their cars to the show, it was a rewarding experience. We had 27 cars this year, and everyone had a great experience. For the Couture family, it was the first time that we did Concours Driven, and what a great learning experience! Special thanks to Randy Drake and Steve Hermans, Jr. for judging both of our cars and giving us a thorough evaluation.
While I am writing this column, I am thinking about going into my garage for my annual inventory of my car cleaning supplies. We are going to the SVTOA Rendezvous next weekend at the new Griot’s Garage location, and I plan on taking advantage of being there to stock-up! Don’t tell Deana cuz I’m probably going to spend way too much money! I’m like a kid in a candy store when I’m there!
Well, that’s all the time I have for now as we having an impromptu family dinner at our place this afternoon and I still have “house husband” duties to complete!
That’s all for now. I look forward to seeing you all at the June meeting.
Feel free to email or call me anytime you have questions or concerns.
