From The Prez - Sept 10
The process to select our officers and board members for 2011 is nearly upon us. It officially begins at the September Board Meeting when nominations are opened for club officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Chair). These nominations are then opened again at the October General Meeting. I strongly encourage one and all to consider running for an officer or Board position.
As I announced in last month’s column I will be seeking an additional term as your President. But don’t let that stop you from running for the President’s position if you think it’s time for a change!
The Board began discussing the 2011 Roundup Show at our August Board Meeting. We will have our first 2011 Roundup Committee meeting on Monday, August 30th at 7:00 PM at the Overlake Roundtable Pizza and would love to have you participate in the planning for this great event. Roundup 2011 will take place July 14-17, 2011.
The location for Roundup 2011 has yet to be finalized. Bellevue College is going to be constructing another building on the campus and we may lose 250+ parking spaces! We will keep you posted as more information concerning the BC project becomes available and decisions are made.
We still have to come up with solutions for the upcoming losses of Kevin Crader (website) and Dave Penwell (Tack Shack) from their positions. Anyone interested should contact me or another board member as soon as possible.
A $250 Gift Certificate from Pony Carburetors, Inc. went “unclaimed” at the Grand National Show so we have decided to sell raffle tickets for it at the September and October General Meeting. The winning ticket will be drawn at the October meeting. It will give us an opportunity to raise more money to donate to our favorite charities!
