Mustang Study Hall Round 2
|
Mustang Study Hall round 2 was another huge success! More fun, more laughs, more great food, and we learned something to boot! It really is hard not to, when you are working on something you love with friends.
We all tried to help each other with the goal ahead of becoming certified Mustang Club of America judges. Scott and Lois Robinson for the second time in as many years, again hosted Mustang Study Hall. There were plenty of interested would-be judges. Working together on their '64 - '66 certifications were: Mike Godwin, Glenn Mayer, Jim Joki, Lance Lambert, Nancy Atkinson, Don Bernasconi, Shannon Wolk, and Lois Robinson. Researching, discovering and wondering all about the early Pony Cars, and guided by Scott Robinson, we progressed through the MCA Certification Exam. This year, Scott pulled out all the stops, and we had visual aids (car horns), we took a tour of his shop, and paged through crib notes that Scott had made while studying for his certification. We all brought our stash of Mustang IDs, Mustang "How To's" and Mustang Restoration books, and the table was piled high. It is surprising how many places you can find contradictory right answers! My personal favorite was trying to figure out the color of the bolts that hold on the trunk hinges from 3 different black and white photos.
Rob Ogden began his study of the Mustang II. (No I don't know why.) Something about, "Well who else is going to do it"? But then I guess you could ask, "Well who do you think has the most books about obscure automobile facts?" I wonder if you can get a Gold Card in Mustang IIs? We all brought great eats and Lois made the bratwurst - great with potato or bean salad. I won't tell the story about the smoke alarm here, but something must have set it off. We all ate good and there were more laughs - Overall, a very successful Mustang Study Hall!
