Notes from the Editor... Dec 08

Well, another year's end is upon us. Soon we will be saying good-bye to 2008 as we usher in a New Year. However, before we welcome 2009 and the challenges and obstacles to come, I thought it might be nice to reflect on the highlights and accomplishments that our Mustangs Northwest Family has experienced together this past year.

From January to December, Mustangs Northwest members dedicated themselves to serving their club and their local community in a variety of ways. In 2008, Mustangs Northwest put on First-Class shows and events like "Spring Into Summer", "Mustangs at the Mill", and the BIG one—a four day series of events we all like to call "Roundup". Mustangs Northwest members also enjoyed the fun and camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts as we shared time together driving in parades, building and racing pinewood derby cars, picnicking together, and caravanning to local (and not so local) car shows sponsored by various community organizations and fellow car clubs.

However, although our stellar shows and fun events deserve remembrance and recognition, I believe it is the spirit of service and giving that truly defines this club. Not only did Mustangs Northwest give over $12,000 to local charities this past year, but we also came out in force to volunteer our time and talents by serving others. Now THAT is something worth recognizing!

So in this season and spirit of giving, I would like to encourage you to keep the momentum going.  Don't just sit back on the sidelines and miss out on all the fun opportunities Mustangs Northwest has to offer. Let us work together, enjoy each other, and serve fervently together in 2009!

Happy Holidays!
