Pat & Connie Trine's 1993 SVT Cobra

Life on the "Ranch" with the Trine Mustangs

The inspiration behind this story actually came from a presentation that fellow Mustangs Northwest club member Rob Ogden gave regarding rare "Special Mustangs" from Ford. Just prior to buying the Cobra, our daily driver was a 2003 Red Fire Metallic, six cylinder Mustang. Great gas mileage,

but it seemed to lack the excitement of raw power and acceleration. We wanted to find something that was somewhat rare or limited edition and had greater performance and handling. We also wanted a vehicle that could hold its value as opposed to the six-cylinder vanilla Mustang that we currently had. The hunt was on!

We didn't have to look very far, as we came across a "For Sale" ad in our own Pony Express. We bought a 1993 Teal SVT Cobra with a dealer installed Kenne Bell Supercharger. In 1993, Ford only produced 4,993 of these special vehicles. Our Cobra was born on 02/10/93 at the Dearborn Assembly Plant and is number 246 out of 4,993 total SVT Cobras built. That year Ford only offered three colors, Black (1,854), Vibrant Red (1,882) or Teal (1,355).

We enjoy our classic Mustangs, which are our occasional drivers, but the Cobra is truly our "Daily Driver". The whole point of owning a special Mustang for us, is actually getting it on the road and enjoying the driving experience.

Connie really does enjoy that driving experience daily! Who knows what tomorrow may bring. A Shelby? Saleen? Stage III Roush? 2010 SMS?
