Mustangs with heart—Food Lifeline event
On Saturday, December 19th, 2009, a strange phenomenon occurred. Robots and Mustangs came alive! Over 30 people from Mustangs Northwest and the Mountlake Terrace Robotics Team 1778 worked to repackage over 16,000 pounds of pre-packaged food. While hoping that both groups could work side by side, that unfortunately did not happen. With 6 volunteer groups showing up from the local community to help the less fortunate, we were all split up to divide and conquer the tasks at hand.

The teams were split up into separate groups, and then the challenge was on. Team 1778 "Chill Out" worked flawlessly together, plowing in through palette after palette of Nabisco product, repackaging all of the various goods into some nice assortments for many families. Mustangs Northwest had a little tougher challenge of sorting, both Nabisco products, and
As part of an ongoing challenge for the MTHS Robotics team, Pat Trine presented the MTHS Robotics team for a check for $250 to go towards their Robotics program. Again, a special thanks goes out to Mustangs Northwest and all of the work that they do in supporting all of the charities and programs around the community. Also, a special thanks to all of those Mustangs Northwest members and their families for coming out to Food Lifeline to work hard in repackaging all of the donated food from Food Lifeline.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers from Mustangs Northwest who came out to help repackage and sort food for the needy. You have tremendous spirit and caring for this community. I have seen first hand what Food Lifeline does for the community, and I am so glad our club supports their efforts.
Thank you Kevin for bringing the Robotics kids out in force. Too bad we didn’t get a chance to compete side by side, but they proved that they can work, and did so in abundance. They deserve a GIANT KUDOS for all the food they repackaged, and we look forward to our next challenge with them.
